About the Rollei XF35
Solidly built and with a quality feel in good clean working condition offering exceptional value.
Released in 1974, the XF35 was a more conventional design than the Rollei 35 camera. Whilst it may be more conventional than that camera (film advance on the right for instance) and it is automated (which makes it more of a point and shoot than the fully manual Rollei 35), it is very nicely built and has a solid and quality feel to it.
The real jewel is the Carl Zeiss designed 40mm F2.3 Sonnar lens. It produces extraordinary images. It is a compact rangefinder camera with the lens as its unique selling point.
It is a fully automated camera with manual focus. Being automatic, the camera will choose exposure between f/16 at 1/650th of a second, to f/2.3 at 1/30th of a second. Bulb is also available and ISO is selectable between 25-400. With the Modern 1.5v battery there is plenty of opportunity to push and pull the film if that is your thing. I do recommend buying an ND filter for even greater latitude.
