About this Camera
Serial Number: 370419 (Year of manufacture 1941 - batch of less than 15,000) made and probably less than 1,000 surviving. Leica stripped out the red curtain on cameras they serviced apparently.  This is a highly collectable camera. 
 
A Beautiful iiic with the ultra rare original Red Shutter 2nd Curtain version, with the 1/30 shutter speed for the commencement of the slow speeds (down to 1 sec). A beautiful camera in lovely condition looking amazing with red calf leather skin, having been professionally restored by a trained Leica technician. It has the addition of the flash sync making it even rarer.
 
It comes with twelve month warranty in a presentation box. Included is a roll of film (awaiting Leica film so I will probably use another brand), a leather half case, original Leica Instruction Manual, film cutter, cold shoe cover and a leather strap.
 
About the Leica iiic 
 
The Leica IIIf, is a 35mm rangefinder camera produced by Ernst Leitz Wetzlar in Wetzlar, West Germany between the years 1940 and 1951. 
 
For anyone looking to complete their screw mount Leica collection, this is a must have.The Leica iiic screw-mount camera is significantly smaller and lighter than any Leica M camera. It's often quieter than LEICA M cameras, so in other words, it does what they do best, but even better. The IIIc weighs only two-thirds as much as a typical LEICA M.
 
The LEICA IIIc has a 1.5x magnified rangefinder with a longer effective base-length than most Leica M cameras to give more precise focus, and therefore sharper pictures.
