About the Leica iif
The Leica IIf, launched in 1951, is a 35mm couple rangefinder camara made by Leica. It was meant to replace the Leica IIc, and it is a simplified version of the Leica IIIf, the same camera body without the slow shutter speeds.
There is a patch on the body where the slow speed selector knob is positioned in the IIIf and the accessory shoe has only two screws. As with the IIIf there are two variations - the Black Dial, made from 1951 to 1952 and the Red Dial, made from 1954 to 1956. This one is the sought after Red Dial IIf from 1956 has a top shutter speed of 1/1000th.
