The Canon P

The Canon P (for Populaire) was made between 1958 & 1961. It was the first truly popular Camera and laid the ground for even more innovative cameras to come. viewfinder was fixed at 1:1 with framelines for 35/50 & 100mm visible. It was a very usefuil competitor to the Leica M2 &  Nikon S3 Rangefinders that preceded it.

Smaller and quieter than the 7/7s with a very accurate shutter. All the P/7/7s have a metal foil shutter, which was a huge innvation at the time and was deployed to avoid the sun burn holes often found in cloth shutters of the time. They often show slight wrinkles, this is normal and nothing to be concerned about, it has no detrimental effect on exposures.

The Canon 50mm f1.8 lens

A really beautiful lens that is to some peoples view even sharper than the legendary Canon 50mm f1.4.

In absolutely lovely condition and working flawlessly. The camera and lens comes in a Presentation Box, with the relevant accessories (Leather Soft half case, Hand Strap, lens and body caps, High Quality Soft Shutter Release Button, and Hot Shoe Spirit Level Cover).

A full Mechanical parts & labour warranty for 12 months is included in the price.

A roll of 36 exposure Ilford HP5 Film is included in the box.
