The Canon 7
The Canon 7 was made between 1961 & 1964. It had a first for rangefinders at the time in that it came with a shutter coupled built in Selenium light meter, with a dial for High and Low sensitivities.
It was very much a state of the art camera for the time and little was brought over from previous models. It also had adjustable framelines for 35/50 &135mm something that Leica and Nikon users could only dream of. As the Mikon S3 & SP had essentially been phased out It was a serious competitor to the Leica M2 & M3
Larger than the P with many innovations it was. a big success at the time. All the P/7/7s have a metal foil shutter, which was a huge innvation at the time and was deployed to avoid the sun burn holes often found in cloth shutters of the time. They often show slight wrinkles, this is normal and nothing to be concerned about, it has no detrimental effect on exposures.
In beautiful condition and working flawlessly. The camera and lens comes in a Presentation Box, with High Quality Soft Shutter Release Button, and Hot Shoe Spirit Level Cover).
A full Mechanical parts & labour warranty for 12 months is included in the price.
Please note: All cameras can be reskinned in a different colour if required. See reskinning service tab.
nb. the images of the presentation box are for demonstration purposes only. You will receive the camera you order in an identical and beautiful presentation box, just the camera depicted in that particular image will be substituted with your camera.
