A lovely lens in excellent condition, the lens is clean and clear, no scratches or haze, which is exceptionally rare for these lenses, with none of the usual dust you would expect for a lens of this age. Comes with a metal Leica lenscap and plastic body cap.

About the Fed Industar 50mm f3.5 
 
The Industar 10 is a Tessar-type lens design. FED, and other factories made cameras since the 1930s. It’s at the core of nearly sixty Soviet-made lenses’ optical designs.
 
Despite its appearance (and mechanics) closely resembling the German Leica’s Elmar collapsable lens, its optics are something else. Based on Carl Zeiß’s designs, like many other Soviet lenses, Industar-10 uses the Tessar system that some say perform as well as Elmar
 
The Industar-10 first appeared in 1934. The external design copied the Elmar but the optical design followed the Tessar.  This lens is uncoated, these lenses can be identified by their non-standard aperture markings (3.5, 4.5, 6.3, 9, 12.5, 18), while coated lenses use standard aperture markings (3.5, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16). Production continued through the mid-1950s.
 
Despite its limited 𝒇3.5 aperture, Industar-10 can render soft, expressive, and even swirly bokeh.
